Font - Entitled neighbour mows our lawn without permission then expects payment S So our neighbour is 'new' to the street. 6 months tops. He owns a mowing service and wakes me nearly every morning at 4.20am using power tools of some kind out the front before he heads to work.

Font - So last week my husband started to whipper snip the front however a storm came across and he had to come inside before he could mow. On the weekend we hear both neighbours start mowing at 8am as we are getting the kids ready for a birthday party.

Font - I look out the front and see the 'new' neighbour on his ride on doing our front lawn. As I notice him he finishes and goes back next door. I mentioned it to my husband and we are both feeling pretty awkward about it as we haven't formally met them and why is he randomly mowing our lawn? Is he being nice? What is this?

Font - We head out to the kids party and arrive home mid day. Under the door is a bill.......for lawn mowing. The cheeky sod was asking for aud$55 for 30 minutes on his ride on...... THAT WE DIDNT ASK FOR.

Font - I take the bill to their house and hand it to his wife explaining we wernt paying as we never asked him to mow and we are extremely confused by the situation. She honestly didn't even looked shocked at what her husband did. She said she will give it back to him and that was it.

Facial expression - We are thinking they were trying to scam us into paying...... seriously who charges $110 per hour for a mowing service!

Here you cannot make disruptive noise between 11-7. You might be able to report his use of power tools; maybe fines will teach him consideration? 120 Reply Share

Font - Verna_Mueller145 OP. 5 hr. ago The lawn was actually not looking bad. Especially since my husband started snipping. Being in a rural area lawns aren't always super short. But definitely not over 2 inches (super normal). We have a daughter with special needs and struggle to keep up with jobs but again the lawn was done in the last month. And yes I think we have noise conditions. But it's always" try to talk to your neighbour first" before you can lodge. But I'm going to go over one morning

Carnivore - TheEmpressIsIn. 5 hr. ago Well, that is a ridiculous policy. Why have the ordinance if they won't enforce it?

Jaw - Verna_Mueller145 OP. 4 hr. ago Yeeep. They want us to try to work it out amicably first...... ........ no thanks.

Font - GullibleNews. 4 hr. ago Had a neighbour do almost the same thing. Mowed the nature strip a few times without ever really meeting or knowing him. He was an avid gardener, so always mowed before I ever had a chance. Then, after a few mows, he slipped a note in the letterbox. "I've been mowing for free, from now on it's $20 per month" ... i was like, i have a mower. I can do it myself...

Font - Battleaxe1959-3 hr. ago When we moved into our new home (20+ yrs ago) we had a neighbor who was upset that our lawn was getting weedy, 3 days after we arrive. It was July, we drove 3 days, from UT to MI, with 2 kids, 3 dogs, a cat & an iguana. After we got there, hubs flew out for work, leaving kids & I to unload the truck & settle in. The lawn didn't even make to top ten of what needed to be done.

Font - My lawn began to sprout dandelions. This was simply too much for 1 neighbor & he came to my door to ask me to control them because they would infect his lawn. I let him know that we wouldn't use herbicides due to our animals. Neighbor #2 offers to mow the lawn. Cool. Despite the chaos of my house, I bake her a cake as a thank you.

Font - Hubs comes home & here comes neighbor #1 to speak to "the man of the house" about those dandelions. Hubby tells him that it's true, we won't use herbicides. Next day a bag of Weed-Be-Gone was on our doorstep. I never spoke to neighbor #1 again. Neighbor #2 mowed our yard for a few more times until we got our own riding mower. I baked a cake each time. Years later I found out that she was upset we didn't pay her. My ESP wasn't working & she never said word one.

Font - Neighbor #2 has been frustrating. She had no control over her teenagers, forcing us to install an alarm system & outdoor lighting to prevent theft. Then the husband passed and her health has declined. She has an ever changing household of grandkids & their loser friends who just can't seem to operate a mower, so last year I mowed her lawn.

Font - She asked my husband why I mowed & he said I did it because she couldn't. She said she couldn't pay me & seemed confused when hubs said we didn't want payment, we just wanted to help out.
